Wishlist on SteamWhat Is Code RAPID?
Code RAPID is a third-person action mecha game developed by indie studio HitBreak. It focuses on high-mobility movement where you pilot a powerful mech through the Ondarean front — a forgotten planet filled with hostile machines and ancient secrets. The game emphasizes speed, verticality, and fluid combat over slow, tank-like mech controls.
You complete missions to earn weapons, upgrades, and new parts for your mech. Each mission takes place in an open-ended arena where you decide how to approach objectives: go in guns blazing, use terrain for cover, or zoom past enemies with a well-timed dash.
A demo is currently available on Steam, giving you a taste of the movement system and early missions before the full release.
How to Play Code RAPID
Code RAPID is a single-player experience where each mission has primary and optional objectives. The core loop is straightforward: drop into a zone, eliminate threats, complete objectives, extract, then spend earned credits on upgrades.
Movement is your greatest weapon. Unlike traditional mech games where you're a slow walking tank, Code RAPID gives you a dodge dash, a sprint boost, and the ability to wall-jump off certain surfaces. A skilled player can maintain near-constant momentum, making you a hard target to hit while you circle enemies.
Weapon types matter. Your mech can carry two weapons at a time. You'll find rifles for precision, shotguns for close burst damage, rockets for area denial, and energy weapons that bypass certain armor types. The right loadout depends on the mission. Watch the enemy composition before you deploy.
Upgrade between missions. Credits earned from missions go toward stat upgrades (speed, armor, energy capacity) and new weapon unlocks. You can also find upgrade chips during missions that grant temporary buffs for that run.

Tips and Tricks
Master the dash-melee combo. Dashing into an enemy at close range does melee damage and staggers them. Follow up with a shotgun blast for massive burst damage. This combo clears most standard enemies in one go.
Use vertical space. Many arenas have elevated platforms and ledges. Get above your enemies to control sightlines. Enemies have limited upward tracking, and you'll take less return fire from height.
Energy management is key. Sprinting and dashing share an energy pool. If you overuse mobility, you'll be caught without energy when you need to evade a rocket or heavy attack. Let energy recharge behind cover.
Learn enemy tells. Each enemy type has a wind-up animation before its attack. A glowing core means an energy blast is coming. A raised arm means a rocket launch. Dodge perpendicular to the attack direction — not backward.
Scan before engaging. Use the environmental scan (hold E near terminals or use the scan ability) to mark all enemies in the zone. Marked enemies show up through walls. Pick your engagement order: take out ranged enemies first, then melee units.
Explore for upgrades. Main objectives are clearly marked, but side paths often contain upgrade chips, credit caches, and lore fragments. These make later missions significantly easier.
Don't hoard credits. Spending credits on upgrades early makes farming more efficient. A 10% speed boost might not sound like much, but it lets you complete missions faster, earning more credits per minute.
